Chewy Choc-oat-Chip Cookies


Preparation time: 10 minutes
Total time: 40 minutes
Yield: 4 ½ dozen cookies

Ingredients:


  • 1 cup butter or margarine, softened
  • 1 ¼ cups firmly packed brown sugar
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 Tbsp milk
  • 2 tsp vanilla
  • 1 ¾ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • ½ tsp salt (optional)
  • 2 ½ cups Quaker Oats, uncooked
  • 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 cup chopped nuts (optional)
Directions:
  1. Heat oven to 375°F.
  2. Beat together margarine and sugars until creamy. Add eggs, milk and vanilla; beat well. Add combined flour, baking soda and salt; mix well. Stir in oats, chocolate chips and nuts; mix well.
  3. Drop by rounded tablespoonful’s onto ungreased cookie sheet.
  4. Bake for 9 to 10 minutes.
  5. Cool for one minute then move to a cooling rack. Cool completely.
