Carne Asada Tacos


Preparation time: 5 minutes
Marinate time: 1-4 hours
Cook time: 10 minutes
Total time: 25 minutes + marinating
Yield: 4-6 Servings

Ingredients:
  • 1 lb. steak*  
  • 4-6 Tortillas 
Marinade:
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 Tbsp. lime juice 
  • 1 Tbsp. Vegetable oil
  • 1 tsp. garlic powder
  • 1 tsp. oregano
  • 1/2 tsp. cumin
  • 1/2 tsp. chili powder, or more, to taste
Toppings:
  • Shredded cabbage
  • Guacamole
  • Shredded cheese
  • Onion (thinly sliced)
  • Tomatoes
  • Lime juice
  • Sour cream
  • Cilantro
  • Salt and pepper
Directions:
  1. In a medium bowl combine soy sauce, lime juice, canola oil, garlic, chili powder, cumin, and oregano. In a gallon Ziplock bag or large bowl, combine marinade and meat. Marinate for 1-4 hours, turning over occasionally. 
  2. Heat a large skillet with oil over medium heat. Cook meat with a little marinade and thinly sliced onion to the desired doneness. Let rest for 5 minutes.
  3. Serve with tortillas and topped with desired toppings.
*Notes: Flank Beef, Walmart has a great Stir Fry Beef, thinly sliced
