Cinnamon Rolls with Cream Cheese Frosting


Preparation time: 1 hour and 25 minutes
Bake time: 40 minutes
Total time: 2 hours
Yield: 10 - 12 rolls

Ingredients:
Dough:

  • 1 cup warm milk, 115°F
  • 1 packet fast acting yeast
  • 2 room temperature eggs
  • 1/3 cup melted salted butter, cooled
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 4 cups flour
Filling:
  • 1 stick softened salted butter
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 2 Tbsp. cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup heavy whipping cream
Frosting:
  • 6 oz. softened cream cheese
  • 1/3 cup softened salted butter
  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 1/2 Tbsp. vanilla
Directions:
  1. Mix dough ingredients in the mixer until combined with paddle. Swap out for the dough hook and mix on low to medium speed for 5-7 minutes.
  2. Take sticky dough out of the bowl and put in a greased medium sized bowl. Cover and place in a warm place for an hour.
  3. Mix the filling.
  4. Use a floured rolling pin to roll out the dough on a floured surface to about 24x15 in size. Spread on the filling mixture. Roll up and cut with a knife into no more than 12 rolls. Place in a greased 9x13 pan. Pour heavy whipping cream evenly on the rolls.
  5. Bake at 375°F. Cover with foil for the first 25 minutes of baking. Take off foil and bake for another 15 minutes or more, if needed.
