Banana Bread


Preparation time: 15 minutes
Bake time: 1 hour 
Total time: 1 hour 15 minutes
Yield: 1 loaf

Ingredients:
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 2-3 ripe bananas, mashed
  • 1 cup of walnuts, chopped
  • 1 1/2 cups flour, sifted
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp. nutmeg

Directions:
  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.  Grease your bread pan and set aside.
  2. Melt butter in a microwave-safe bowl.  In a medium mixing bowl, cream together the butter and brown sugar.  Stir in the eggs, then the bananas.  Finally, stir in the walnuts until evenly incorporated.
  3. In a separate bowl, add the flour, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg.  Mix until uniform.  Pour the wet ingredients into the flour mixture and stir until just combined.
  4. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake for 1 hour or until a fork comes out clean.  
  5. Remove the bread from the pan and cool on a rack.  Allow it to cool completely before storing it in an airtight container.
